Landscape Irrigation Network

Landscape irrigation in two steps: water demand of every zone (solenoid valve) from project rates, ShNQ 2.04.01-22 or ETo, run times and a valve program inside the irrigation window; then the main line point by point with the shared network engine - pump flow and head, pressure at every valve, storage tank and take-off.

1 ยท Water demand and irrigation window

2 ยท Zones (one solenoid valve each)

# Zone / valve Plant Device Quantity Rate (L/unit/day) KL Canopy Ø (m) Devices per plant Device flow (L/h) Emitter spacing (m) Row spacing (m) Precipitation (mm/h) Pressure at valve (bar) Stub-out at point Stub L (m) Stub Ø
Quantity: number of plants for bubblers and emitters at the plant, area in m² for dripline, spray and rotor. One device type per valve. Rate: daily water per plant or per m² (project rates; for ShNQ the norm per watering × waterings per day). Pressure at valve empty = device pressure × (1 + lateral allowance) + valve loss (+ filter loss for drip).

โ†ฉ Back to start
Distance = main pipe length from the previous point (the first point: from the supply tee). Valves sit on stub-outs from these points; tick the points with a quick coupler.

Numbers follow the point rows. Green squares = valves, orange = quick couplers.

Landscape Irrigation Network

1 - Water demand
โ€ข Every zone = one solenoid valve, one plant type, one device (do not mix devices on a valve).
โ€ข Methods: project rates (L/plant/day, L/m²/day), ShNQ 2.04.01-22 Annex 3 item 26 (lawn 3, green areas and flower beds 3 - 6, sports 1.5 L/m² per watering × waterings per day) or ETo × KL / efficiency.
โ€ข Flow: bubblers / emitters per plant, dripline grid, spray or rotor precipitation rate. Run time = daily water / flow.

2 - Valve program
โ€ข Valves running together form a group; the groups run one after the other inside the window. Automatic grouping keeps the largest group flow (the pump flow) as small as possible.

3 - Main line
โ€ข Points from the pump / supply tee (loop or single line); every valve on a stub-out; quick couplers on points.
โ€ข Every group and the quick couplers are solved; the worst gives the pump head. Valve inlet pressure = device pressure × (1 + lateral allowance) + valve loss (+ filter loss for drip).
โ€ข Pump flow and head, tank, monthly water, velocities, take-off.
